Support Initiativies - Child Support

In these tough economic times many parents are struggling to support their families.  This is especially true when parents are raising children in two households or where grandparents on fixed incomes become the primary caregivers for their grandchildren.

In Ohio, parents who have never married, parents who are spearated or divorced and grandparents who are raising their grandchildren, are entitled to child support from the absent parent(s).

Judge Mary Kovack implemented a plan to enforce Child Support Orders while ensuring working parents (whose economic circumstances have changed) have stream-lined access to the relief they need.  This plan provides a flexible process to enforce child support orders against those who do not pay and an easier process to modify support for those who are ill or laid off.
