Other Innovations
Since taking office Judge Mary Kovack
has:
- Implemented innovative ideas and technologies to reduce family conflict and keep children safe:
- Parenting coordinators to resolve parenting disputes in high conflict cases
- SCRAM technology to monitor the sobriety of parents with alcohol issues
- E-mail messaging to encourage communication between parents without conflict
- Created a Compliance office to avoid unnecessary delay by making sure families and lawyers in uncontested matters have all the paperwork required by the law prior to the final hearing.
- Installed a new computer system to better track cases and serve the public.
- Installed digital recording systems in Magistrate's courtrooms to reduce the expense of documenting court proceedings.
- Physically renovated the Domestic Relations Court to provide additional court rooms and office space as well as added security.
- Developed new and improved education classes for divorcing parents and their children.
- As Presiding Judge of the Common Pleas Court in the wake of September 11, 2000, Judge Kovack spearheaded the project to provide security for the courthouse.
- Created a Court website to provide greater public access to the court.
